Find the Joy and Magic in Your Holiday Celebrations

One of our favorite parts of the holiday season is picking out our Christmas tree. We’ve made it a tradition with friends, starting when our daughter, Sydney and their kids were small, running together through the trees to find the “perfect one” and continuing now as our 20-somethings still love being outside together and then diving into some hot chocolate afterwards.  There’s an excitement and joy that has nothing to do with material things and everything to do with the fun and magic of this season. We can all experience that by moving beyond the pressures of finding the “right” gifts and instead enjoying an evening walk in the brisk air, filling the house with wonderful aromas, and visiting a local farm for a special tree.

At Tracey Energy, we also focus on helping the Yale-New Haven Auxiliary fill its toy closet for kids being treated at YNHH facilities and clinics along the shoreline. If you’ve ever brought a child for medical care, you know it can be a stressful and

scary experience. Anything we can do to help make it a little nicer is important.

We wish you a holiday season that feeds your soul and your belly and ushers in a new year filled with hope, health, and possibility.

Consider Supporting the Yale-New Haven Holiday Toy Closet

Tracey Energy has been supporting the Yale-New Haven Toy Closet for over 25 years. What a simple way to make a child’s scary stay in a hospital a little nicer! The Toy Closet Program distributed over 150,000 donated toys to children throughout the YNHH hospital system, including the Children’s Hospital, the emergency departments, and clinics.

If you would like to include a separate check donation with your heating oil payment, we will happily and gratefully ensure it is delivered to the hospital. You can also drop off a toy at either the Tracey Energy office or at the hospital. Call 203-688-5717 to make arrangements. You can also purchase toys from this registry. Thank you for making a child’s experience a little brighter.

Linking Eligible Customers with Fuel Assistance

While we continue to do what we can to manage your heating oil costs, we recognize current fuel costs will be a burden for lower-income families and those facing financial difficulties. Connecticut’s Operation Fuel may be able to help. Operation Fuel provides emergency utility and energy assistance. According to their website, you’ll need to provide proof of income for the last four weeks and the name of your fuel vendor.

According to their site, “Operation Fuel serves households whose income does not exceed 75% of the State Median Income Guidelines, which include, but are not limited to, the elderly, disabled, working families, or individuals facing a financial crisis.” You can apply online here. You can also meet with someone in person or call 2-1-1 for assistance.
