New Federal Hot Water Heater Efficiency Regulations

New residential water heater energy efficiency standards are taking place on April 15, 2015. These new energy standards will increase the Energy Factor (EF) new water heaters, meaning the newer heaters will lose less heat while in standby, reducing the amount of energy used to reheat the water. The new standards affect gas-fired, oil-fired, and electric water heater and are as follows:
