Tune Up for Winter with Tracey

- 4:46 pm - November 10th, 2017

“Good things come to those who wait” may ring true in some aspects of life, but preparing your home for winter isn’t one of them. Our very own dispatcher, Keith Jordan, has some tips to help ensure your home is winter ready, and he shared them with News 8. Be sure to check out the video below!

Keith tells News 8 that homeowners should get a furnace cleaning or tune-up annually to help make sure everything is working properly. “We have technicians that will come out there, check your flue pipes … check on the efficiency of the unit,” he says.

He notes the importance of planning ahead, as many people put off checking or filling their oil tank, which can result in having to wait longer for help. He further detailed the process, stating that “the parts that we change on the furnace are your oil filters; we check your primary control; we check your transformer.”

As Keith illustrates in the video, tune-ups help ensure the safety, efficiency, reliability and cleanliness of your heating equipment. Schedule yours, included in our Bronze, Silver and Gold Comfortmaster Service Plans. When you do, in addition to what Keith outlined, one of our expert service technicians will:

  • Vacuum clean the heating unit, smoke pipe and chimney base
  • Clean and adjust electrodes and the nozzle assembly
  • Lubricate motors, bearings, fans and circulators
  • Test and adjust all safety and operating controls
  • Inspect the damper and combustion chamber
  • Test the heating oil pump
  • Tell you the condition of your equipment in a written report

Be sure to check out the video above! Then, if you haven’t already, schedule your heating system tune-up from Tracey. To do so, call (203) 777-5747 or visit your account page.
